Professor Jodie Bradby is Director of the Research School of Physics at the Australian National University and before that was Head of the Department of Materials Physics. She is a materials physicist who uses extreme pressure to create new materials with a strong interest in diamond. She has published more than 130 papers, held several Fellowships, and supervised many research students to completion, who now work in national laboratories, CSIRO, ANSTO, universities and government.
She was President of the Australian Institute of Physics (2019 to 2021), leading its first membership growth in over two decades, and served on the Board of Science and Technology Australia and the National Committee for Physics. She has worked in the gender equity spaces at the School and College level at ANU. Her recognition includes Fellowship of the AIP, the AIP Women in Leadership Medal (2024) and the Women in Physics Lecturer Medal (2015).
