Join acclaimed political thinker John Keane in conversation with Andrew Leigh as they discuss Keane’s new book, Demagogues and Despots: Democracies on the Brink. Exploring the growing global threat of despotism, Keane examines how democratically elected leaders can erode democracy through manipulation, misinformation and unchecked power, and asks what makes democracy worth defending. Part of ANU Community Day, this timely conversation brings big political questions to the heart of campus. Books will be available for signing from 11am and again after the event.
